Changing Diapers- A review

I was recently contacted and asked to do a review on my blog of the new book by Kelly Wels Changing Diapers: the Hip Mom's Guide to Modern Cloth Diapering.

I was excited to get the chance to take a sneak peak! Within a couple days I had the advanced reader copy in hand! I eagerly dug in and was enjoying reading all about the stats as to WHY people are choosing Modern cloth diapers. Reasons such as health, finances, potential eco-benifits and even (gasp) for the FUN of it all! I enjoyed reading what real moms had to say here and there throughout the book.

I LOVED the chapter about the basics of cloth diapering. Kelly covered a lot of the lingo that is used in the cloth diaper subculture. That will be SUPER helpful to mamas who are new to the cloth diapering world. She also covered issues like velcro vs. snaps, which can be a hard decision for many moms to make.

Are you interested in diapering a newborn or maybe not sure about how many diapers you need? How about cloth diapering while your kiddo is at daycare or even if it is possible to diaper multiples in cloth? There are chapters that cover these frequently asked questions too!

There is SO much more available in this book. Chapters on troubleshooting, laundry day and supplies... I was impressed by the amount of material covered in this book. When I first started getting into cloth diapering I wished that such a book was out there as a resource. NOW IT IS! This would be a great book to give to new moms and your friends who are interested in knowing more about cloth. Kelly breaks it all down in an easy to read format.

And OH! The pictures! In my advanced reader copy all the pictures are black and white. Even though I enjoyed the pictures, I got confirmation that the actual book will have full color photographs. I can't wait to see how much more beautiful they will be in color! Cute babies, fluffy bums...
